Why did I build this project?

Short answer: I find 2D CAD cool. Watching a couple of measurements reshape a whole curve still feels like magic to me. One day I asked myself: "If I love this so much, why don't I run it in everyone's browser with WebAssembly?" This site is the answer to that question.

The long answer carries a bit more of a grudge. Ready-made sewing patterns are, in my opinion, far too expensive — and on top of that, the pattern you buy is drafted for a standard size, not for your body. Drafting to your own measurements, meanwhile, takes either real craft skill or costly software.

"Then use the existing pattern software," you'll say. I tried. I genuinely tried to understand the draft-your-own-pattern projects out there on the internet. But at least for my level of intelligence they were too complicated and not exactly user-friendly — maybe the problem is me, maybe it's the interfaces; let's meet in the middle. So I decided to build something simple enough for me to understand: enter the measurements, see the pattern, download the PDF. That's it.

The result is the site you're in right now. Everything runs in your browser, your measurements are never sent anywhere, and the basic patterns are free. It's an attempt to turn pattern drafting into something "normal" people like me can actually do. I hope it serves you well.
